$25 NYX Nude on Nude Eyeshadow Palette with Mattes and Shimmer

Are you looking for a pigmented eyeshadow palette with matte & shimmer? Look no further!

There is a good balance of shimmer and matte. I'm looking for an all matte palette, so I'm going to pass on this since I have loads of shimmer eyeshadow, but this might be great for someone looking to begin practicing with eyeshadow, want to test lipgloss colors or looking to upgrade. I wouldn't start with elf if I was a beginner; already did and wouldn't recommend it. It would be best to go to a place like Sephora or Ulta to test eyeshadow swatches to get a feel of texture such as powdery or creamy shadow and pigment.

If you're on a budget and not sure how well this product would work, I understand, but if you can spare it, I promise you won't regret it. I own quite a bit of elf eyeshadow products and sometimes it can be hit or miss on the pigment, but when it hits, it's all good. Elf eyeshadow are great for beginners but not if you're someone looking to really experience quality without the struggle of blending well and great color payoff. I own an NYX palette and I'm converted...PERIOD...

Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Elf liquid eyeliner that stays on for HOURS, the brushes and some others, but the eyeshadow can be hit or miss, which can be frustrating and once you've had better, you begin to understand it's not about the price and more about quality.

NYX Nude on Nude set is a classy medley of 20 neutral eye shadows and 10 vibrant lip colors that work for every skin tone and every occasion. This makeup palette comes with a mirror and 2 applicators for your lips and eyes, making it perfectly portable.

It's not exactly what I'm looking for but NYX has some great pigments, better than elf handsdown! Too bad Wet N Wild hasn't come out with an all matte nude palette yet, at least one that has more than 3 matte shades. I also spotted this palette at Beauty Master in Morrow, Ga, which is an NYX HEAVEN!!!

All Nude Matte Eyeshadow Palette's under $40

Okay, so I realized out of all the eyeshadow I have, which is loads of shimmer, satin and foil, I don't have a large range of nude matte eyeshadow for crease color to create a beautiful transition or for just an overall matte look. So I did some research and so far have only found 3 palettes worth mentioning, so let's get started.

1. $40 Paula's Choice

I hadn't even heard of it til yesterday, taking one of my youtube mental breaks from work. One of my favorite youtubers is Gossmakeupartist, was a part of putting this palette together, make sure to check him out!  There are 11 matte colors and 1 shimmer, which I can live with. :)

Now that I'm getting more into makeup, I realize the importance in investing in certain things such as eyeshadow. You can find great quality eyeshadow at a good bargin, you just have to do some research. With this product, you'll looking at $3.33 per eyeshadow, which is pretty good. Too bad Milani does not have matte eyeshadow, yet that is. Their eyeshadow are super pigmented, creamy and just beautiful.

2. $20 Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Eye Palette - Eye On Neutral 02

Next up is the runner up that I think I will sample first, which is going for half the price of Paula's Choice.

Now these look like they would be perfect if you have some matte colors in your collection but missing a few for either cool, neutral or warm skin tones. These where comparable to MAC, which is a great selling point for me at $6.99!!! Really, I think it only makes since to grab one of these!

30 Minute Dance Workout Video by Bipasha Basu Break Free

For real, there is no excuse not to workout when we all have youtube.

In the beginning, I thought this urban Bollywood dance video was going to be cheesy, but it actually was fun. I enjoy dancing and what better way than to start incorporating a fitness routine that is not only easy but fun. It's a great way to mix things up a bit.

 First off, I have to say the purple color definitely set the tone for the evening with this makeup fundraiser event by The Glamatory, with owner Celebrity Makeup Artist @MiMiJOnline. This event was packed with glamorous looking women and a few gents who came to support in the name of entrepreneurship.

Upon entry, I got the pleasure of meeting the owner of @PnkDigger, the infamous lipstick, lip stain and lipgloss company that started last year and has had tremendous success over such a short period. Actually, before speaking with Stephanie, she was busy greeting instagram fans that she clearly recognized, which I thought was amazing! Talk about great customer business relationship! As I waited for the opportunity to chat with Stephanie, I sampled some of PnkDigger infamous lip pigments and everyone I picked, to my surprise where sold out for the evening. That's shows you how popular their new fall color are.

 

Finally, I got my moment to chat with Stephanie, a very down to earth woman, and I had to ask how she got started. I'm always curious to find out what drives people to go down a road they've never traveled. Stephanie is a makeup artist and has always been known as the "pink lipstick girl". Coworkers kept suggesting she should create her own makeup line, in which the opportunity presented itself in one of the most unlikely situations. It was during a breakup that she decided to start a makeup line of all things. I thought that was a great way to use your energy by pouring into something to distract you instead of entertaining self-pity. Look how all that effort paid off! Even though they did have the shades I wanted, she was so sweet to give me on of the lip pigments, "Velvet Room", which turned out to be the perfect shade for me. She designs cut fitted clothing for women.

 I have to say that this drink was one of the highlights of this event. Carmaleita, Mixologist of Lyght House Cocktails, had a mixed bourbon drink with strong hints of cinnamon and lemonade, even though I am not a fan of cinnamon at all, this drink was FANTASTIC!!! Everyone I met kept talking about how great the flavor was and the lingering taste. If you're looking for a bartender for your special event, you have got to sample her mixes. So I entered the Milani Cosmetics Dream Trip Get-a-way

So I decided to give this a go and enter the Milani contest I found on www.allthingsbee.com.

You had to choose an Italian legend to base you makeup look after. This was my take on Sophia Loren, international movie legend.

I added a comparison so you could see the image I mimicked. All I can say is those eyebrows are something vicious to try to duplicate.

What if I also told you, you are also the key to your happiness? We waste time over thinking the wrongs that others have done instead of forgiving and learning to let things go. Letting go could be forgiving and remaining friends or leaving friendships behind with no regret, hatred, anger or judgement in your heart. 

It can be a challenge at times to do these things but only because we choose to make them difficult. Situations can remain difficult if we choose to focus on it, complain to our friends about it and so on. By doing so, we keep giving life to unhappiness.

Being patient with others and ourselves is one of the keys to happiness, the other is purifying your heart on a daily basis through reading spiritual books, meditating, prayer or all of the above. Now remembering, that is our daily challenge 😊  that can be overcome.

I have to say I'm not like some women who buy multiple bags at a time. Preferably, I like to window shop until I find a piece that speaks to me saying, "Stop! I'm the one". 

They normally have to serve a purpose, like a clutch that will go with a certain look but can be utilized with more than one outfit. With handbags, I normally purchase them one at a time when one dies off and it's in a "safe" color that I can use during different seasons. That's is wishful hoping of course. Other purposes it has to serve as well as a camera for events, diaper bag and/or laptop carrying case. This definitely caught my eye on shoedazzle. One of the reviews stated that it has a soft shape, so it's nothing stiff, but I love those types of bags because you can fit more in them. To top it off, the price is pretty much around the range I spend on a bag at Marshall's or TJ Maxx, which makes it PERFECT! No sure yet, but this is definitely one to consider.
